    The RMH will hold its 2017 Annual Convention October 8 – 10 at the Hilton Norfolk The Main.  Opening this Spring, The Main will be Downtown Norfolk's newest upscale hotel, dining, and meeting destination.  At Main and Granby Streets, this luxury hotel sits along the downtown Norfolk waterfront.  Attendees can embrace the downtown lifestyle and walk to cultural attractions, trendy shopping and dining and the Elizabeth River.  


    We are planning some unique events, including a reception and dinner cruise on the Spirit of Norfolk that gives you the chance to dine, dance, play games and catch spectacular views of the mighty ships and submarines of the Navy's Atlantic Fleet.  The RMH's 2017 Annual Convention will be an event you don't want to miss!  So please mark your calendars, plan to attend and be on the lookout for more details to come!

    Employment Issues-What to ask- and not to ask- during the interview process and handling employee discharges


    Independent Contractor Issues – Are Your Owner Operators Really Independent Contractors? How to protect your Company against misclassifying contractors as employees and the host of associated liabilities.


    The east meeting will be held at Hilldrup Companies in Stafford on October 17th and the west meeting will be held at Excel Truck Group in Weyers Cave on October 24th.    The program will start at 10:00 a.m. with lunch in between the two topics and a question and answer session to adjourn at approximately 12:30 pm.

    FMCSA Compliance Workshops – Fall 2017 Series

    Presented by the RepoMotorHomes, (RMH) in conjunction with Nationwide Testing Association, Inc.,(NTA) the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Field Office, Richmond VA and the Virginia State Police – Motor Carrier Safety Team (VSPMCST). Special Guest – Susan B. Owen and Jaime Espitia, US Department of Labor/OSHA (DOL)

    In continuing to keep our members and the Virginia trucking community properly trained and educated with up to date information regarding  FMCSA Compliance, we are pleased to offer a series of FMCSA Compliance Workshops this upcoming fall.   A bonus this year is special guest speakers, Susan B.Owen, Regional Investigator  and Jaime  Espitia, Regional Supervisory Investigator, with the US Department of Labor/OSHA who will be speaking on the impact of the OSHA Whistleblower Act.  The workshops will be hosted  in October/November 2017 at various locations throughout the state.

    These workshops are designed to equip the motor carrier with the necessary knowledge and tools to both implement and/or maintain a compliant safety program. They are also designed for the seasoned safety professional seeking up to the minute information regarding the current FMCSR regulatory environment.
